Leading a STM Medical Team
Early Pre-Trip Tasks
Partner Selection

The sending organization, of course, is your own church or other organization that is sponsoring the trip. The national host is
the receiving entity - a church, Christian school, orphanage, or other community organization. This is the organization that is inviting
the team to come minister with them. It is with them that the trip objectives are defined (see next section). You
should be given the name and contact information for the person at the host organization who has responsibility and authority over this
joint project and it is with this person that your ongoing communication will be critical. Communication by phone or Skype is recommended,
as it allows a two-way dialogue with immediate feedback and clarification and a greater sense of relationship building
that is difficult to achieve by email.
Logistics and organizational support can be managed between the sending organization and the national host, or with a third-party ministry partner.
